The flatmate of Pheobe Bishop has been seen for the first time since the 17-year-old vanished almost two weeks ago.

Tanika Bromley was seen reporting for bail at the Gin Gin police station for weapon offences, which are unrelated to Bishop’s disappearance.

Bromley and her partner James Wood, whom she is now forbidden from contacting, were the last people to see Pheobe alive, but there is no suggestion they are involved in her disappearance.

9News can reveal that Wood has also been charged with an unrelated offence after police allegedly found a shortened firearm and ammunition in their car during the search for Bishop.

Police tape remains in place at the home where Pheobe lived with Bromley and Wood.

Today, officers suspended a search for the missing teenager in the Good Night Scrub National Park, but said the greater Gin Gin area would remain a focus of their investigation.

“Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of enquiry,” police said.

They added that searches would recommence as needed and as more information came to light.

A major land, water and aerial search had been under way at the Good Night Scrub National Park, about 40 kilometres from Gin Gin, since Friday.

Some items believed to be linked to her disappearance were found and taken for forensic examination, but police believe more evidence had been moved from the area before the search began.

Pheobe was last seen about 8.30am on May 15, after her housemates claimed they dropped her off outside the Bundaberg Regional Airport.

She had a ticket to fly to Western Australia, via Brisbane, to visit her boyfriend, but never entered the terminal or checked in for her flight.

There has been no confirmed sighting of her or her luggage since.

A grey Hyundai ix35 belonging to Pheobe’s housemates was seized by police last week and declared a crime scene.

Police are appealing to anyone with information, vision or sightings of the car between May 15 to 18 in the greater Gin Gin area to contact them.

The homicide squad is assisting in the search.

Pheobe is described as about 180 centimetres tall, with a pale complexion, long dyed red hair, and hazel eyes.

Her mother, Kylie Johnson, said she has been finding it hard to get out of bed.

“To find the strength to put one foot in front of the other and know what to do, what to think or what to say,” she said yesterday.

“We as a family are just trying to go through the motions of waiting for Phee to come home.”
