Remains have been found following the three month search for Shyanne-Lee Tatnell (pictured)

The mother of a missing teen opened up about her heartbreak as she lashed out just one day before remains were found.

The grim discovery was found during a large scale search for Shyanne-Lee Tatnell, 14, in north-east Tasmania on Wednesday, 50km from where she was last seen three months ago.

More than 150 search and rescue personnel scoured bushland in two locations on Wednesday, just four weeks after police released haunting footage of Shyanne’s last known movements.

Just four weeks earlier, haunting footage of her last known movements along the Henry Street Bridge in Launceston was released by the police.

The desperate search took a tragic turn late Wednesday when human remains were found in bushland near Nabowla, about north-east of Launceston.

The last three months have been a nightmare for Shyanne’s mum Bobbi-lee Ketchell, who has made several public appeals for information about her daughter’s whereabouts.

Just hours before human remains were found in the search for her daughter, Ms Ketchell lashed out at those ‘quick to judge innocent human beings’ in a furious Facebook rant.

‘You aren’t caring enough!, you’re giving up! You can’t afford things like a bill board or posters for my daughter who is missing, you know what stuff you all judge mental beings!’ Ms Ketchell wrote.

‘Live one day in my shoes then happily judge until then shut your mouth, you have something to say about me and my situation say to my face!

‘Just because my daughter isn’t headline news or on the media does not mean she is forgotten about or we have gave up on her, the CIB are continuing to do all they can and more that you the public do not need to know or my family and I need to share!’

She insisted the case of Shyanne’s disappearance remained a priority.

‘We will find my baby girl, no one can feel my pain and understand how much I miss my daughter, every day is a struggle, but I am still a fighting, grieving mother that is doing all I can for all my children, being strong in this situation is hard but I will never give up!’ Ms Ketchell said.

A fortnight earlier, she shared several photos of the pair together, along with one of Shyanne celebrating a birthday.

‘Our family is so lost and broken without you. We will never give up on you baby girl. I miss you so much, the not knowing is a nightmare, I really need you home xx my love for you is unconditional,’ she wrote.

In another recent post, she issued a harrowing plea to other parents to hug their children.

‘I can not explain the pain and heartache of missing your child so much, every little thing about them,’ Ms Ketchell wrote.

‘Hug your kids more, tell them you love them all the time, praise them, let them know you are there no matter what.

‘As you never know what tomorrow will bring, you may not know when you can hug them next, tell them you love them, it could all be taken anyway from you just like that a split second.’

Ms Ketchell told The Mercury a month ago she had refused to give up hope Shyanne would be found alive, despite  ‘a gut feeling she is no longer with us’.

‘I’m living every parent’s worst nightmare, but all I can do is pray she’s safe and comes home into my arms,’ she told the publication.

‘I struggle to sleep because in the middle of the night, I don’t know if she’s warm enough. I go to sleep with her on my mind and wake up with her on my mind.

‘Each time my phone goes off, I don’t know if it’s her or the police.’

‘I have to prepare myself for the worst, if they find her dead.’

Extensive forensic examinations will conducted by specialist police after remains were discovered on Wednesday.

‘While they have not yet been forensically confirmed, they are believed to be human remains,’ a police statement read.

‘Police have been in regular contact with Shyanne-Lee’s family throughout the investigative process, and our thoughts continue to be with them and her loved ones during this difficult time.

Police are following a specific line of inquiry, however no charges have been laid at this stage

A crime scene has been declared at a property at Scottsdale as well as the scene near Nabowla.

Earlier on Wednesday, Detective Inspector Andrew Hanson said the investigation had turned to one that’s exploring a ‘criminal element’.

‘There was always the potential for some sort of criminal element to be involved.

‘We are out there this week to explore the information and validate it.’

‘Our investigative team has spent considerable time scouring CCTV, interviewing witnesses, and meticulously following up every lead.’

Investigators in early June forensically tested a car relating to a person of interest, but no link to Shyanne-Lee was found.

She had been staying in youth accommodation for the two weeks before her disappearance and was on her way to visit a friend in nearby Ravenswood.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
