Jaylen Brown’s game-tying 3-pointer on Tuesday night was worth a Mike Breen double “bang.”
The ESPN play-by-play man broke out his signature call for the momentous moment during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and the Pacers at TD Garden.
With just seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the Celtics inbounded the ball right to Brown in the corner, where he launched a 3 that fell to tie the game at 117-117.
“Throw-in in the corner. Brown fakes, fires up the 3. Bang! Bang! Jaylen Brown knocks down the 3 to tie the game. Timeout Indiana,” Breen said on the call.
The ESPN cameras panned over to actor Donnie Wahlberg, who was emphatically celebrating the game-tying shot courtside.
The broadcast also showed Red Sox legend David Ortiz celebrating in the stands at TD Garden after the huge shot.
The Celtics managed to take Game 1 of the series, 133-128, over the Pacers to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Jayson Tatum finished the night with 36 points, including 10 in overtime to help lead the Celtics to victory.
Brown finished with 26 points in Game 1.
Breen’s memorable call came on the same night that he took home his third straight Sports Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Play-by-Play.
He beat out Joe Buck, Ian Eagle, Kevin Harlan and Mike Tirico and another Red Sox great, Pedro Martínez, who accepted the award on Breen’s behalf.
With the Celtics and Pacers the only team in action on Tuesday, the eyes of the basketball world were on the game, which included LeBron James apparently tuning in.
James appeared to take a shot at the Pacers over their decision-making over their defense on the game-tying 3.
“And yall still wanna know why I would foul up 3 EVERY SINGLE TIME??” he wrote on X.
He ended the post with three face-slapping emojis.
