MIA: Harlem Pol Kristen Richardson Jordan misses half of Council votes

She’s the anti-social democratic socialist.

Embattled left wing Harlem Councilwoman Kristin Richardson Jordan has missed 46 percent of her council committee and caucus meetings since last year, records show.

She’s been recorded absent 53 times and present 61 times with one entry listed as “conflict” since taking office in January of 2022.

“I wish she would be more active on the committee and the council,” said Councilman Robert Holden (D-Queens), who chairs the veterans committee.

This year alone, she’s missed five meetings of the Aging Committee she serves on, four Youth Services and Sanitation Committee meetings, two Veterans Affairs Committee meetings and two full Council Committee meetings.

The councilwoman also skipped two meetings of the committees on Civil and Human Rights and Women and Gender Equity.

Richardson Jordan, 36, also was recorded as absent from the Council’s Manhattan delegation meeting on April 27.

Holden noted there are only 5 members on the veterans committee, and the absence of several reps could prevent a quorum to conduct business.

Another councilman who serves on committees with Jordan Richardson said, “She’s completely MIA. She’s checked out.”

This council member, who requested anonymity, said the committees perform oversight duties of government agencies and pass legislation — the key functions for Council reps and the legislative body

“It’s really sad that a council member would miss so many meetings. It’s really negligent for her district,” said the rep, noting that some Council members from far-flung parts of the city such as Staten Island make it to meetings at City Hall in downtown Manhattan despite long commutes.

“Why run for the job if you’re not going to do the job?” the council rep said.

Richardson Jordan faces a tough primary on June 27, with rivals including Assembly members Inez Dickens and Al Taylor as well as Yusef Salaam, who was exonerated in the infamous Central Park 5 rape case.

The lawmaker, who was elected in 2021, defeated incumbent Bill Perkins, who was ill at the time.

The council’s 51 seats are up for re-election this two-year cycle because of decennial redistricting.

They’re usually up every four years.

Richardson Jordan, a self-described democratic socialist and abolitionist who backs defunding the police, has provoked controversy with anti-cop screeds and other remarks.

She has called the NYPD “the biggest gang in New York City” and a “white supremacist institution.”

Her other infamous tweets include sending sympathy to the relatives of Lashawn McNeil, the man charged with murdering police officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora responding to a domestic violence call last year, as well as the officers’ families.

The councilwoman also blamed Ukraine and the US for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Her attendance record shows she skipped meetings last year, too — well before the re-election season kicked.

She missed 30 meetings in 2022.

Richardson Jordan did not return queries to her office seeking comment.
