A home has been sprayed with bullets and a suspected getaway car found burnt-out nearby.
NSW Police are investigating possible underworld ties to the shooting of a home on Earl Street in Merrylands, in western Sydney, at about 9.15am on Thursday.
No one was inside the home at the time and no injuries were reported.
Three alleged gunmen fled the scene in a Porsche, which was discovered alight on nearby Beverley Crescent in Chester Hill a short time later.
The group then allegedly left Chester Hill in a Hyundai until they were arrested on McMahon Road at Yagoona after allegedly attempting to flee police on foot.
Crime scenes were established at the Merrylands home and burnt-out car.
Police are investigating a suspected link between the shooting and the Alameddine organised crime clan.
The investigation will be led by Taskforce Falcon, established by the State Crime Command to investigate and suppress violent crime in the Sydney metropolitan area.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website.
