Two men in Perth escaped from a car shortly before it was hit by a train in Perth last night.

The car became caught at a level crossing in Herne Hill when it was demolished by a train.

The car had been involved in a two-car crash moments before, spinning onto the crossing.

The pair got out of the ute before the train collided with it.

They were both taken to hospital with minor injuries.
