Melbourne woman’s marriage lasts just ONE hour after new husband’s cruel first act

An Australian woman has shocked radio listeners with her story of a wedding that ended in heartbreak – before the reception was even over.

Calling in to Nova’s Late Drive with Ben, Liam & Belle, Kylie from Melbourne recounted the surreal moment her groom vanished just hours after they tied the knot, never to be heard from again – until she discovered he had been cheating on her with her own cousin.

‘I had a really short marriage. It wasn’t even 24 hours,’ Kylie revealed.

‘We got married and had a beautiful wedding. And he was gone for the reception.’

Kylie explained that the couple had been together for six years and, from the outside, looked like they were headed for a happy future.

The ceremony was picturesque, the photos perfect, and guests were ready to celebrate.

But as soon as the vows were exchanged and the camera shutters stopped clicking, her new husband simply disappeared.

‘We had the ceremony, did the photos – he was beautiful during the photoshoot, he was the love of my life,’ she said.

‘And then he just disappeared. I didn’t hear from him for months.’

Despite his absence, the wedding reception went ahead, with guests unaware of what had happened.

Kylie said she kept up appearances as best she could.

‘Everyone was fine to stay and party the whole night – but I went back to my room by myself,’ she said.

‘He didn’t want to be with me. He was seeing somebody else [the whole time], but he let us get married.’

The situation only got more painful in the days that followed, especially when relatives began calling to ask how the honeymoon was going or to congratulate the newlyweds.

‘It was really hard, especially talking to family members [who called to ask about the new husband the next day],’ Kylie said.

‘But we laugh about it now.’

In an unbelievable twist, Kylie later found out who the ‘other woman’ was – her own cousin.

‘He’s with my cousin now – he was cheating on me with her,’ she revealed.

‘I don’t see him or my cousin. That would be really awkward.’

Despite the betrayal, Kylie has managed to find some humour in the ordeal, and says her family hasn’t let her live it down.

‘My kids think it’s hilarious – it’s brought up all the time,’ she said with a laugh.

When asked if she ever remarried, Kylie was quick to say ‘no’.
