“I got turned upside down and hit my head on the road and they started kicking me in the head,” he told 9News.

“I was out of it at that stage.”

His 14-year-old son and partner Kerry were home at the time and witnesses the attack.

“Kerry thought I was going to get killed,” he said.

“She was screaming for them to stop and neighbours came out screaming for them to stop.”

The attackers then took off towards Benambra street, and are yet to be found by police.

Murray was rushed to the Austin Hospital and underwent a CT scan.

He suffered mild concussion, cuts and bruises.

Police are hoping anyone who saw or recorded the assault will come forward.

Anyone who witnessed it, has CCTV or dashcam footage from nearby or has information is urged to contact police.
