Meghan Trainor is not having the “mansplaining.”
The singer recently took to social media to explain the lyrics of her hit song, “Mother” and why it’s directed at the “silly men in the world” who had something to say about her career and choices.
Meghan Trainor Explained The Lyrics Of “Mother” On Instagram
The “Made You Look” singer shared a video on Instagram with an explanation written on it that explains the lyrics of her newest song, “Mother.”
“I wrote this song for all the silly men in the world who have tried to tell me what kind of songs I should write, what career choices I should make, and have talked down to me like I have no idea what I’m doing,” she wrote. The caption completed her explanation by saying, “And that having a baby would end my career🤰😘 #iamyourmother #mother #23weekspregnant.”
Tons of supportive words filled the post. Many of Trainor‘s fans dropped into the comment section to leave their thoughts on the song “Mother” and the nonsense critics have spewed that inspired the song.
“👏Talented 👏brilliant 👏incredible👏amazing👏showstopping 👏spectacular👏never the same👏totally unique👏completely not ever been done before👏unafraid to reference or not reference 👏,” one person wrote.
“I really admire that you’re having a family while also actively pursuing your career. You don’t see that much in show biz. Way to go for blazing your own trail 💪🏼,” expressed another fan.

Meghan Trainor’s Career Is Thriving And Her Family Is Growing
The Grammy Award winning singer, 29, is mom to Riley, 2, with husband actor Daryl Sabara, and is currently expecting her second baby. Despite what critics may have said, Trainor‘s career is doing just fine, thriving actually, and while being an active mom and pregnant!
Not only is she currently filming “Australian Idol” as a judge, but she’s also getting ready to release her first book, “Dear Future Mama: A TMI Guide to Pregnancy, Birth, and Motherhood from Your Bestie.”
The book is described on Amazon as the “real talk you want about pregnancy, birth, body image, and the newborn days” from Trainor’s point of view, and is due to be released on April 25.
Trainor has no plans of halting her career or not adding to her growing family. Currently 24 weeks pregnant with baby number two, Trainor has said that she would like to have four kids.
“I’m just so grateful I can get pregnant. And I’m like, ‘I’m crushing it. This is amazing. This is my dreams,’” she told PEOPLE in January, after announcing she’s pregnant. “I’m halfway there — I want four kids!”
Trainor said this time around, things are different for her.
“It’s like a real pregnancy. The first one was like make-believe. I had no symptoms with Riley to the point where I was like, ‘We need to go to the doctor. There’s nothing in me.’ I got my symptoms late in my pregnancy with Riley,” she said. “I got them right away with this baby.”
