Matthew Lawrence claims he lost Marvel role after refusing to strip for director

Matthew Lawrence is sharing his #MeToo story.

The actor told “Brotherly Love” podcast listeners on Friday that he lost out on a Marvel role after refusing to strip for a director.

Although Lawrence did not identify the person in question, he called them “very prominent” in the business.

“I lost my agency because I went to the hotel room — which I can’t believe they would send me to — of a very prominent Oscar award-winning director who showed up in his robe, asked me to take my clothes off and said he needed to take Polaroids of me,” the 43-year-old alleged.

The “Mrs. Doubtfire” star went on to tell his co-hosts and brothers, Joey Lawrence and Andrew Lawrence, that he was subsequently “fired” by his agency.

“Not a lot of guys, in my opinion, have come out and talked about this in the industry,” Matthew added, saying he has been “propositioned to get a major role … many times in” his life.

The “Boy Meets World” alum, who is dating TLC member Chilli, clarified that his experience was about “a third of what women go through.”

He continued, “Men go through this as well, whether it’s another woman or another man in power. I think our society is less ready to hear that situation is going on with men than they are with women.”

Joey, 47, chimed in to say that he has also “lost out on a lot of … big movie parts” when finding himself at “those crossroads.”

Matthew praised Terry Crews for sharing his own story of sexual assault in November 2017.

The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star, 54, tweeted that a “high level Hollywood executive … groped” him at a “function” the previous year, publicly naming the man as William Morris Endeavor executive Adam Venit.

Crews sued the agent in December 2017, with the duo agreeing to settle the lawsuit in September of the following year.
