Wearing a T-shirt reading ‘Just A Scratch,’ amateur mixed martial artist Mark Zuckerberg updated the masses on his encouraging recovery from last month’s knee surgery.
‘Recovery is going well so far,’ the Facebook founder wrote in an Instagram post alongside a picture of himself in shorts with a compression sleeve wrapped around his surgically repaired left leg.
Zuckerberg, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu enthusiast and one of the world’s richest men, tore his ACL in November, revealing at the time that he had been training for a ‘competitive MMA’ against an unspecified opponent. Those plans – including rumors of a billionaire brawl with X’s Elon Musk – are now on hold indefinitely.
‘Thanks for all the love and support,’ Zuckerberg continued. ‘Full ACL rehab is ~9 months before I can fight again.
‘I can already walk and bike. Working towards running for the next couple of months. Then full leg strength. Taking the time to do this well and come back stronger.’

Prior to his injury, Zuckerberg had entertained the thought of fighting Musk, his social media rival and Tesla founder, but the two failed to come to terms and negotiations devolved into finger pointing and posturing.
Musk went on Joe Rogan’s podcast in November and said he’d fight Zuckerberg ‘anytime, anywhere, any place’ only for the Harvard dropout-turned-Meta CEO to get injured.
Even UFC boss Dana White offered to build a fight card around a Musk-Zuckerberg main event, saying that they could do between ’20 and 25 [million pay-per-view buys]’ and generate close to $1 billion.
The current record for most pay-per-view buys was set by boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in 2015, when 4.6million people tuned into their bout.
