Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is calling for people to join her in protesting the indictment of former President Donald Trump – after Trump himself refrained from doing so in his most recent blistering statement.
The outspoken conservative, who this week rallied in favor of jailed January 6 defendants she calls political prisoners, issued the call hours after the historic sealed indictment by a Manhattan grand jury.
‘I’m going to New York on Tuesday. We MUST protest the unconstitutional WITCH HUNT!’ she tweeted.
Her comment comes as members of the NYPD are preparing to counter any civil unrest, while Trump’s lawyers negotiated with prosecutors for him to surrender himself for arrest and fingerprinting Tuesday afternoon. Trump’s U.S. Secret Service security detail is also in talks with local law enforcement over his planned arrest at Manhattan Criminal Court.

Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina has said Trump won’t be handcuffed when he surrenders himself and is preparing to battle the charges with court motions.
Trump himself had demanded protest with his online post March 18th, when he said his own arrest was imminent.
‘THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!’ Trump posted earlier.
But in his angry statement Thursday night after news broke of the indictment, Trump failed to mention protests – instead vowing in a furious statement to ‘throw every last one of these Crooked Democrats out of office.’
