A man has been taken for mandatory testing after a toddler was hit by a car in Sydney’s west last night.

The one-year-old girl was allegedly struck by an Audi 4W on Edna Avenue in Toongabbie just before 5.15pm.

She died at the scene as paramedics attended to treat her. The site has been forensically examined by crash investigators.

The 41-year-old male driver was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

An investigation into the crash in underway. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
