Three people were seen leaving quickly shortly after as the victim’s screams rang out.

Neighbour Rosana Romano said it was ‘traumatising”.

Police responded quickly, calling for immediate helicopter support.

The police helicopter spotted a red Volkswagen seen leaving and in a bizarre set of circumstances saw it come back to the scene of the crime where officers on the ground were waiting.

A man and a woman, who police say know the victim, were arrested.

The victim was given CPR and stretchered into an ambulance to be rushed to hospital.

“Police immediately applied first aid and a tourniquet, which probably saved the gentleman’s life,” Inspector Karl Hahne said.

It’s understood two more suspects remain on the run.
