A man is in a critical condition after he was shot during a hunting trip in the NSW Central Tablelands.

The 70-year-old man was shot on a rural property on Campbells River Road in Black Springs, about 20km south of Oberon.

Paramedics treated the man for a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
