Police are seeking a man seen riding a scooter after an armed robbery in Rockhampton yesterday.

An image of him has been released by police after a man armed with a knife entered the George Street supermarket in the Central Queensland city and threatened staff before stealing cash.

No one was injured and the man fled on a scooter.

He was last seen travelling down Archer Street in a northerly direction.

He is described as Caucasian with a proportionate build and was wearing a white and black T-shirt, black shorts, a red cap and thongs.

Anyone who saw the man, or anyone with information about his identity, is asked to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Home owners or businesses in the vicinity with CCTV are also asked to check their vision for any sightings of the man.
