A man will face court today in the Queensland city of Ipswich, charged with firearms and domestic violence offences after shots were allegedly fired in a suburban street.

Events began at 12pm yesterday in Alexandra Street, Brassall, when police responded to calls of a man with a gun acting in a threatening manner and reports of shots being fired into the air.

A man, aged 34, was found by officers in nearby bushland and arrested.

He will face court today on six charges, including weapons offences, discharging a firearm in a public place and using a weapon to cause fear and domestic violence.

Video obtained by 9News showed a man and a woman apparently having a row that soon turned physical.

The man allegedly holds a gun to her head in the footage.
