A man dressed in a Squid Games costume has been tasered inside a train at Sydney’s Central Station after he allegedly approached a police officer while armed with a knife.

The man entered the train when it arrived just a few minutes later at the platform.

Officers followed and approached the 38-year-old.

“Police will allege the man was in possession of a knife and advanced towards an officer,” police said.

“The officer deployed her taser and the man was arrested without further incident.”

No other injuries were reported.

The man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for assessment.

Police said their investigations are ongoing as they appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed something.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
