A man has died after being struck and dragged the length of a football field by a ute during an alleged road rage attack west of Sydney, and the driver is yet to be arrested.

Emergency services were called to Jersey Road in Blackett about 8.45am to find a 27-year-old man critically injured.

Police said the victim, who was dressed in hi-vis, was hit by the ute and dragged about 100 metres before the vehicle fled the scene.

“Apparently the victim had gotten out of the vehicle after being threatened by the car following him, and obviously words were said,” Ranee said.
