A 61-year-old man has died and a 46-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after a house fire broke out in Adelaide’s south this morning.
Emergency services responded after the fire broke out at a home on Amsterdam Road in Hackham West where two people were inside.
Paramedics and firefighters attempted to save the man but he died at the scene.
The 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Amsterdam Road remained closed for several hours near the scene of the fire, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Police detectives and forensic specialists are investigating the circumstances of the fire.
