A man has died following a parachuting accident in western New South Wales.

Police said the man, who is yet to be identified, crashed into the ground around midday off the Mount Borah Wimborne Road at Wimborne.

Paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene.

The man's parachute and equipment have been seized for examination and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
