An investigation is under way after a man died in Brisbane City Watchhouse three days after being arrested.
The 41-year-old from Zillmere was arrested at a home in Morningside on July 16 over an outstanding warrant and taken to the watchhouse.
By 5pm on July 19, he had become unresponsive.
According to police, watchhouse and nursing staff gave the man first aid until emergency services arrived.
He was declared dead an hour later.
The Ethical Standards Command, on behalf of the state coroner and with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission, is investigating the cause of the man’s death.
