A man has died after being attacked by his dog at his home in southern Tasmania.
Police and emergency services were called to a report of a dog attack on a 66-year-old man and 64 year old woman, at their Allens Rivulet property about 10.40pm on Sunday.
The man suffered serious injuries to his lower legs and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries to her legs.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time,” Tasmania Police Inspector Colin Riley said in a statement on Monday.
“The dog was euthanased at the scene by an animal management officer from the local council.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Allens Rivulet is a rural community about 30 minutes drive south of Hobart.
