A man has died after he became trapped in a silo in a small town in South Australia.

Emergency services were called to a property on the Princes Highway at Salt Creek about 4.15pm yesterday.

The 63-year-old man from Salt Creek died at the scene, police said.

Police will be preparing a report for the coroner.

SafeWork SA are attending the site and will be conducting an investigation.
