A man has died after he was detained by police for behaving erratically in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region.

Police were called to Beachmere in Caboolture just before 5am, where they allegedly saw a 37-year-old man acting erratically.

The man was detained by police and put in the back of the officer’s car.

”The man continued to act increasingly erratic, prompting officers to then remove the man from the vehicle and provide him medical assistance,” police said.

He was taken to Caboolture Hospital where he died.

”The State Coroner has been advised, and the Ethical Standards Command is investigating,” police added.

The investigation will be overseen independently by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
