Emergency services were called to a property on Alford Street in the rural town of Kingaroy about 12.30am over reports a man had suffered a cut to his neck.
A 42-year-old man was found at the scene with critical injuries.
“It is understood another man, not known to the 42-year-old, left the scene prior to police arrival,” police said.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or has footage to come forward as investigations remain ongoing.
