The partner of Perth mother-of-two Emmerick Lasakar has been charged with murder and a number of other offences following the death of the 35-year-old on Monday.
Steven Dean, 37, was Lasakar’s partner of 15 years. He was charged on Friday with one count of murder.
Lasakar died in Royal Perth Hospital after being found with serious injuries at her home on Knutsford Avenue in Kewdale.
Police alleged the mother was beaten and stabbed and said her two young daughters called triple zero in an attempt to save her.
Dean had been in hospital under police guard after allegedly fleeing the scene and crashing his car into a tree.

In addition to the murder charge, he was also charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery, aggravated home burglary, and reckless driving over other incidents police allege also occurred on Monday evening.

He has been refused bail and is set to appear in Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow via a bedside hearing in hospital.
