Friends of the 31-year-old woman, who was a Chinese national, found her body inside an apartment on Latrobe Street about 8.40pm on Tuesday.
Police issued a callout for the public’s help to find a man they wanted to speak to over her death yesterday afternoon.
They then arrested a 22-year-old Huntingdale man.

Overnight he was charged with one count each of murder, robbery and theft.
He is due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
