Officers found the body of 51-year-old Janet Guthrie in a home in the Bribie Island suburb of Bongaree after they were called to the property for a welfare check on February 16.
Detective Inspector Ben Fadian said a “disturbance” at the Melia Street house on Wednesday was reported to police on Thursday, which sparked the welfare check.
“As a result of that, we conducted a welfare check at the address and located the female person deceased inside,” he said.
The following day police found a 47-year-old man at South Caboolture who helped officers with inquiries.
