Monks was found unresponsive at a Bundamba home at about 9.30pm last Saturday, February 4.
Police allege the 21-year-old Dinmore man was known to Monks.
He’s being charged with one count of murder and will appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Anyone with information relating to the alleged murder has been urged to contact police.
Monks is being remembered as a “much-loved daughter, granddaughter and sister”.
Her family says she will be “forever young” and “always beautiful”.
