Police are investigating the death of a woman on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Authorities called to a home on Gannawarra Street in Currimundi on Sunday afternoon following reports of a disturbance found the 47-year-old with non-life-threatening injuries.

She was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital but her condition deteriorated and she died a day later.

Police are investigating, with a post mortem to be done.

A 58-year old was arrested and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence offence) and obstructing police.

He is in custody and will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 6.
