Police were called to Bonds Street in Riverwood and found a vehicle had collided with two parked cars before it crashed into a fence.
The 17-year-old driver and his two passengers were not injured.
A short time later a 44-year-old man, who police say was known to the driver arrived and allegedly assaulted him.

Police arrested the 44-year-old and charged him with common assault.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.
