The 52-year-old was arrested last October when police seized more than 400 prohibited weapons in raids at two shops in Narre Warren and a factory at Dandenong South.

The raids were part of Operation Alliance by Victoria Police targeting gang crime.

The prohibited weapons included three imitation handguns, butterfly knives, zombie knives, axes, miniature samurai swords, daggers, flick knives, and knuckle dusters.

Police also confiscated 111 cartons of illegal cigarettes, 17,525 vapes worth $461,000, and laser pointers.

The man is scheduled to appear in court in July on various charges, including possessing prohibited weapons, poison, tobacco and imitation firearms.

He is accused of selling prohibited weapons, including knives and machetes, to known youth gang members in the Greater Dandenong area.

Police say Operation Alliance has led to 387 known youth gang members being arrested a combined total of 1432 times over the past year. They were charged with 3286 offences.

A core group of 249 youth gang members were arrested more than three times during that period.
