A man has been charged over the alleged hit-and-run crash that killed 28-year-old lawyer Mitch East last weekend.

Police arrested a 63-year-old man at Granville Police station today at 11am.

The man has been charged with a string of driving offences, including failing to stop and assist after the crash, dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, and using a mobile phone when not permitted.

He will appear in court tomorrow.
