A man has been charged after two women were allegedly attacked with pepper spray on a train in Sydney’s north-west last month.

At about 11.30pm on Saturday, June 14, police were called to Lidcombe Railway Station after reports of an assault.

Police were told that two women, both aged 22, were travelling on a train between Circular Quay and Lidcombe stations when they were approached by a man they didn’t know.

After a short conversation, the man allegedly pepper-sprayed the women and moved into another carriage.

The women were treated at Lidcombe before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station about 10.30pm yesterday.

During a search of the man, police allegedly found and seized a can of pepper spray and clothing items.

The man was charged with multiple offences including two counts of assault causing bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
