A 31-year-old man has been arrested after the body of a 65-year-old man was found in a granny flat in western Sydney last night.

Emergency services were called to the property on Courallie Avenue in Homebush West at 11.30pm after concerns were raised about the welfare of the occupant.

Police arrived and found the body in the granny flat.

NSW Police superintendent Robert Toynton said the two men were known to each other but their relationship is not yet known.

“We’re not seeking any other persons of interest,” he said.

The 65-year-old man has not been formally identified and an investigation into his cause of death is under way.

“Our condolences go out to the family of this 65-year-old man today,” Toynton said.

“We will be speaking to them as a part of this investigation.”

No charges have been laid in relation to the death.
