A man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed in the face with a paint scraper in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was allegedly stabbed up to 12 times in the head and upper body after an argument with a 25-year-old man at a unit block on Roberts Avenue in Randwick.
The man was chased and then tackled by passersby, who performed a citizen’s arrest until police arrived.
The woman has been taken to St Vincent’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 25-year-old man has been taken to Prince of Wales Hospital and remains under police guard.
Police have said the man and woman were known to each other.
Roberts Avenue has been closed in both directions as police investigate.
