9News understands a 21-year-old man was attacked by a shark just after 12.30pm today at Clack Island, a remote island in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park north of Cooktown.
Paramedics said the victim was bitten by a shark on his shoulder and bicep.

His injuries are not life-threatening.
The rescue helicopter was called from Cairns to airlift the man from the scene to hospital.
