A man has been charged over an attempted abduction after the young person he allegedly tried to snatch memorised his number plate.

The victim was not physically injured and was able to provide a detailed version of events, including the would-be abductor’s registration, Detective Sergeant Sam Storer said.

Police found the man and he has been charged with attempted forcible abduction.

He appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.

Tasmania Police are seeking witnesses and any dashcam footage of the incident.
