- Three children allegedly stabbed
- Woman, 47, charged over alleged attack
A woman who allegedly stabbed her three children with a kitchen knife while they were sleeping has been charged.
Emergency services were called to a Jamieson Avenue home in Baulkham Hills in Sydney’s north-west at about 5.20am on Monday.
A boy, 10, two teenage girls aged 13 and 16, and a woman, 47, were found suffering from stab wounds.
They were treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Westmead Hospital, where they all remain in a stable condition.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
The woman, 47, has since been charged with three counts of grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.
She was refused bail to appear via a bedside hearing in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday
Police allege the woman’s husband wrestled a knife from her as she tried to stab their children in the family home on Monday morning.

Three children and a woman remain in hospital after an alleged stabbing

Detectives spent much of Monday at the crime scene gathering evidence
The man was woken by the children’s screams as his wife allegedly stabbed them, before he was able to snatch the knife from her.
It’s believed the eldest daughter, 16, is a paraplegic who requires a wheelchair.
The mother was allegedly stabbed three times in the stomach, the young boy was stabbed twice in the chest, and both girls were stabbed three times in the arm and stomach.
In stark contrast to the horrific scene authorities were confronted with, a framed picture with the heartwarming caption, ‘This is my happy place’, was pictured in the home’s entrance.
Police seized a kitchen knife at the scene and arrested the mother over the alleged attempted triple murder and suicide attempt.
Police allege the woman was acting erratically in the days leading up to the alleged attack. It’s believed she was suffering a psychotic episode.
‘It’s a family home and that family is not known to police. No domestic violence incidents have ever been reported to police; it’s completely unexpected,’ Hills Police Area Command Detective Superintendent Naomi Moore said.
‘It’s certainly not something I want to wake up to on a Monday morning. It’s a tragic morning. Those children should make a full physical recovery.’

Police are investigating multiple stabbings
The woman was taken to hospital under police guard as a crime scene was established.
Det Supt Moore said the woman’s injuries were allegedly self-inflicted.
One neighbour, who asked not to be identified, described the children as ‘friendly and lovely’.
Another neighbour was in shock and couldn’t believe the alleged stabbing had happened in the family home.
‘They are nice neighbours and quiet but very friendly. There’s no way we’d ever have expected something like this to happen,’ the neighbour said.
‘We didn’t hear a sound and slept through the whole thing until we heard the police sirens.
The Hills Shire Council Mayor Michelle Byrne said the incident was ‘devastating’ for the local community.
‘As a mum and a mayor, my heart breaks for those children,’ she said.
