A major search and rescue operation has been launched after two men plunged from rocks at a popular bathing spot in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. 

Emergency services were called to Melrose Parade, Clovelly, near Gordons Bay, about 7pm on Saturday following reports two men had slipped and fallen from the rocks.   

‘Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, with the assistance of Police Rescue, water police and NSW Ambulance have commenced a large-scale rescue operation to winch the men to safety,’ a NSW spokesperson said. 

‘No further information is available.’
