Five people have been arrested after dozens of heavily-armed police officers descended on a block of units in southwest Sydney.
Police arrived on Charles Street in Liverpool in the early hours of Monday morning after residents reported hearing a gunshot.
A woman was arrested as she left the apartment block at about 2.15am, with another two woman and two men also taken into custody.
There have been no reports of injuries.

Heavily-armed tactical police officers arrived on Charles Street in Liverpool in the early hours of Monday morning after residents reported hearing a gunshot
The unit block has been cordoned-off from the public, with specialist officers and police negotiators also called to the scene.
The five people in custody have been taken to Liverpool Police Station, with police vehicles seen leaving the street at about 5.40am.
NSW Police said a crime scene warrant would be executed with detectives to continue to investigate.
