Lloyd Rayney might have won his latest defamation case but he insists the battle to find justice for his former wife, Corryn, is far from over.

Mrs Rayney’s body was discovered in a bush grave in 2007 in Perth’s Kings Park and 15 years on, her death remains unsolved.

On Friday Mr Rayney and his legal team claim new clues have come to light after a member of the public approached them with fresh information last week.

“They had been in Kings Park where the car was, Corryn’s government car and the oil stains, they found two recently opened VB beer bottles and they took these to the police and had to argue with the police for the bottles to be accepted,” barrister Martin Bennett said.

Mr Rayney was acquitted of his wife’s murder in 2012. So far he’s sued investigators who defamed him for almost $3 million with the lastest legal victory just last week.

He believes a task force should re-investigate the cold case – one similar to the team that helped convict the Claremont serial killer 25 years after his victims went missing.

Mr Rayney is calling on the McGowan government to make it happen.

“There must be an independent inquiry,” Mr Rayney said.

“Independent of any previous investigation that would come to it with an open mind,” Bennett said.

WA Police say the investigation into the death of Mrs Rayney, a former court registra, is still underway and right now in the hands of the special crime homicide squad.
