A learner driver hit two pedestrians after losing control of his Holden Commodore in a shopping centre car park

A man in his 70s had to be taken to hospital after being hit by the 20-year-old hit at the Hub Shopping Centre in Aberfoyle Park in Adelaide.

He also hit another pedestrian and sideswiped a vehicle before ploughing into a chicken shop, police say.

Two pedestrians have been struck when a learner driver lost control in a shopping centre carpark in Adelaide's southern suburbs today. Police said the vehicle lurched forward being parked.

Both victims only suffered minor injuries, but the man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Workers in the shop heard a “big bang” before the accident.

“I just heard the big bang and then looked out and saw the car out there,” one employee said.

“There was a couple of elderly gentleman on the ground.”

Police said the learner, from Old Noarlunga wasn’t being supervised, and is expected to be fined.

He also had passengers in the car, they say.
