The shark caught the attention of swimmers near the Point King Beach jetty in Sorrento yesterday.

It could have been a close call for swimmers who were enjoying the warm weather in Melbourne.

Onlookers believed the shark was about two metres long.

It comes as Melburnians enjoy the warm weather, with temperatures set to reach 32 degrees today before dipping to 25 degrees tomorrow.

The warmth won’t be short-lived, though, as temperatures are expected to climb back to 33 degrees over the weekend.
