  • The public is being asked for assistance to locate the pair

An appeal has been launched by police to find a boy and his father who have gone missing from the Lake Illawarra region in NSW. 

Mason Simpson, aged nine, was last seen in Corkwood Street, Albion Park Rail – a suburb of Shellharbour – on Thursday February 29 and he is believed to be in the company of his father, Leon. 

The pair might be in the Goulburn area and driving in a black Ford SUV registration CA-51-CB.

Mason has failed to attend school on a number of days with police and his family holding concerns for his welfare because of his young age. 

Mason is described as white, about 140cm to 145cm tall, of medium build, with shoulder length brown hair, and brown eyes. 

Anyone who has seen either of them or knows of their whereabouts is asked to contact police via Lake Illawarra Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
