A 16-year-old boy has been charged after a car mounted a footpath in Melbourne‘s north-west, hitting and killing a pedestrian.
The learner driver was allegedly driving on his own when his car mounted a kerb and crashed into a man on the footpath on Taylors Road in Keilor Downs about 5.40am on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old Kealba man died at the scene.
The teenager suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

He has since been interviewed by police and was last night charged with dangerous driving causing death and learner driver unaccompanied.
He was held in custody overnight and is facing a children’s court today.
