Knife-wielding man killed after NYC subway station slashing victim grabbed blade, stabbed him

A knife-wielding man was killed with his own weapon when the person he slashed chased him down and grabbed his blade in a Chelsea subway station Saturday, according to cops.

An unidentified 24-year-old man and his friend had a verbal dispute with the third man, who pulled out a knife at the 14th Street Subway Station on Friday just after 7 p.m., the NYPD said.

The armed man slashed the 24-year-old in the lower torso and then ran away through the subway station’s mezzanine level, according to cops.

The two men chased down the slasher, quickly caught up to him, grabbed his knife and one of them  stabbed him in the chest, according to sources.

Both the alleged initial assailant and the 24-year-old were taken to Bellevue Hospital.  The initial  slasher was pronounced dead and the 24-year-old was in stable condition, cops said.

Two people are in custody but have not been charged.

An investigation is ongoing.
