King Charles reveals 1 strange side effect of his cancer treatment

King Charles III is experiencing side effects of his cancer treatment.

The monarch, 75, revealed he lost his sense of taste during a visit to the Army Flying Museum in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, England, on Monday, per The Independent.

A British Army veteran named Aaron Mapplebeck told Charles that he lost his sense of taste while undergoing treatment for cancer last year.

Charles responded that the same thing happened to him, too.

It isn’t clear if Charles is still missing his sense of taste.

The king learned of his diagnosis in February after he underwent a procedure for an enlarged prostate. There, doctors discovered “a separate issue of concern” that requires treatment.

Buckingham Palace later clarified that the cancer was not prostate cancer.

Charles spoke out about his cancer battle just days after going public with the news.

“I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days,” he said in a message released by Buckingham Palace on Feb. 10. “As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

The king, whose daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, is also cancer-stricken, briefly hit the brakes on much of his royal agenda to focus on his health.

Charles returned to official public duties for the first time since his diagnosis in late April. He visited a cancer treatment center at University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Center in central London with his wife, Queen Camilla, at the time.

The famous royal waved to large crowds gathered outside the medical facility, and was heard making a joke upon arrival.

Along with his cancer battle, Charles has been dealing with drama regarding his estranged relationship with his youngest son, Prince Harry.

Harry, 39, returned to London last week to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. There have been conflicting reports as to the reason why the father and son did not see each other in the UK.

Sources close to Harry alleged that Charles chose not to see his son during the trip. However, that was disputed by Charles’ friends. They also claimed that Charles offered Harry to stay in a royal residence, but Harry allegedly rejected his father’s invitation and stayed in a hotel for the three-day trip.

Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths, meanwhile, claimed the monarch’s decision may have been swayed by “certain demands” from Harry.

“There is some talk that behind the scenes, a lot of negotiating went on,” Griffiths previously told GB News. “I think the reason was because Harry made certain demands about who could be in the room and who couldn’t. Although on the surface it looks like a snub, Harry made it very difficult for his father.”

Harry has been estranged from his family since quitting his royal duties and moving to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020.

But he did visit Charles, albeit briefly, after finding out his dad has cancer in February.

Harry addressed his father’s health issues publicly for the first time during an interview with “Good Morning America” after the quick trip.

“Look, I love my family,” the father of two said. “The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”

Harry also confirmed that Charles’ health will “absolutely” have a “reunifying effect” on his family.
