Kelly Ripa Scolds The ‘Live’ Audience After Mark Consuelos Makes A Sexual Innuendo: “Do Not Cheer For That”

Mark Consuelos turned the tables — or rather, the light-up bed — on Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Mark on Wednesday.

Ripa recalled that she and her husband-turned-co-host were renting their own apartments when they first met, and “people thought [they] were crazy” when they each opted to keep their apartments after tying the knot.

“Now this is normal, like, a lot of people do this now,” she explained. “But when we first got married, we did not give up our apartments. We would stay at my apartment uptown because it was near the studio… We called his place ‘the country estate,’ downtown on the Lower East Side. Because it seemed, like, action-packed.”

Consuelos noted that it’s “complicated to break a lease, so [they] just let the lease run out.”

Eventually, Consuelos said he “would love” to return to his old residence and “see how tiny it is now.” However, Ripa remembered his apartment being “enormous,” as the two highlighted the “spiral staircase” he had leading up to his bedroom.

“He also had a bed that lit up, which we won’t even discuss,” Ripa shared.

While Consuelos argued that one of their castmates “gave [him] the bed frame” and that “the lights didn’t work,” Ripa insisted that the lights did in fact work when she was there.

“You had the bulb replaced when I was there,” she teased.

Consuelos quipped, “Sweetie, you saw lights, but those weren’t the ones on the bed.”

After Consuelos earned some hoots and hollers from the studio audience, Ripa urged, “Do not cheer for that.”

Consuelos then sang, “Blinded by the light.”
